The repeats have that unmistakably warm, rounded character that sits behind your dry signal instead of fighting with it. Short settings work beautifully for slapback and subtle thickening, while longer settings produce deep, spacious echoes with plenty of vintage character. What really sets the AD999 Pro apart is its Multi-Delay section. The three 3/8, 4/8 and 5/8 switches introduce additional delay taps at different points in the circuit, creating layered rhythmic repeats and wonderfully complex, almost tape-echo-like textures. With multiple taps engaged, it can move from a straightforward analog delay into a wide, atmospheric wash that feels much bigger than a conventional three-knob pedal. The main controls remain refreshingly simple: Delay Time, Feedback and Delay Level. It is easy to dial in, but there is a surprising amount of range available, from a barely noticeable ambience to runaway self-oscillation and experimental delay sounds. The AD999 Pro also features a dedicated Dry Output, making it possible to split the dry and delayed signals between amplifiers or mixer channels, as well as mechanical true-bypass switching. If you are looking for crystal-clean digital repeats, this probably isn't the delay for you. The beauty of the AD999 Pro is exactly the opposite: the repeats soften and darken naturally, becoming warmer as they trail away. It has the kind of organic response that makes you want to keep playing rather than keep adjusting menus.A beautifully voiced analog delay and one of Maxon's more ambitious delay designs. Accessories Accessories are as shown in the photos. The AD999 Pro operates from a standard 9V DC center-negative power supply.
