The H2 is a portable recorder released in the late 2000s that made its mark thanks to its excellent price-to-performance ratio. It features four built-in microphones allowing for classic stereo or 4-channel recording, with XY and MS modes, and can record in WAV format up to 96 kHz/24-bit. It also offers MP3 playback, a limiter, compressor, low-cut filter, chromatic tuner, metronome, and can be used as a USB audio interface. Its main appeal today remains its simplicity and, above all, the quality of its microphones for quickly recording a rehearsal, a concert, an acoustic guitar, an amplifier, or ambient sounds. In 4-channel mode, it allows simultaneous recording of the front and back of the stage. It runs on two AA batteries and could achieve approximately 20 hours of battery life at 44.1 kHz/16-bit.
