4/4 Alfred Mortiz Violin, C1890
(705) Full size antique violin, made in Dresden, Germany, in the workshop of Alfred Moritz circa 1890, labelled:" Excelsior; Copy of Nicholaus Amati; fecit Dresdae. Anno 18..; especially made for”, also stamped “Dresden” at button and “Excelsior Violin” at back of scroll.
In ideal playable condition, Rosewood tuning pegs with matching Teka style chin rest, Wittner tailpiece, fitted with Pirastro Tonica string set, newly fitted fine Despiau bridge.The instrument is in excellent condition, the body has no fracture at all.
Very little wear to be seen on the instrument.
