Mega FM MK1 with two original vintage Yamaha YM2612 chips (the sound chips inside the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis console). This unit is in very good condition with its original psu and box. Firmware updated to OS 5.0This is not your clean digital FM synthesizer. The MegaFM is a notoriously dirty, gritty, and glitchy machine. It is noisy by design, full of digital artifacts. If you are looking for glassy 80s DX7 FM keys, this is not the synth for you.Please do your research on this synth before buying as this synth has some known standard quirks - Naturally Low Output: The audio output volume on these units is naturally quite low. I recommend to boost the gain on your mixer, preamp, or audio interface.Noise Floor: Due to the nature of vintage 1980s computer chips, a certain amount of background hum and chip noise is entirely normal and part of the hardware's signature sound.
