About this listing
I’m selling my Vintage 1945 Gibson LG-2 Banner Year- she’s a player- she’s had work done, and obviously refinishing has been done as well- not sure when, as I bought her in this condition. She’s got some bellying, not unusual for these guitars at this age… all her bracing is SOLID, and at some point in the past she had a neck reset to compensate for the belly, so honestly the action is really good up to the 14th fret. You can see that there’s room to play with the saddle, and she’s a ‘45, so there’s a Truss rod (for anyone in the know, these banners- ’42-‘45- are famous for not having truss rods before ‘45 due to steel being needed for the war)…She had a newer oversized bridge plate courtesy of the geniuses at Brooklyn Lutherie, so she’s solid and currently has bluegrass strings 12-56 on her…. and will be shipped this way, with the strings unwound of course. Golden Age tuners (still have the original tuners if that’s a desire), a K and K mini pickup, and a Taylor Aero case (in my opinion, as good as any hard case, if not better), all the pound out what’s included. And there’s not a CRACK on her…. the wood is gorgeous. If you’re looking for a piece of history that can still PLAY, this might be your guitar. Any other questions, please ask.
