I designed this card to replace the original Valley People TA-101 card for Harrison MR4/TV4 consoles. If an original dies, there is essentially no replacing it. This card can be used to restore a dead channel strip, as the VCA is the hardest part of the console to replace.
My design uses a modern THAT 2180A, which is the highest spec VCA chip they make. It is also readily available. All ICs are socketed, so they can be easily replaced in the unlikely event of failure, or if you want to upgrade the 5532 buffer amp.
This card has lower distortion and noise than the originals as indicated in the screenshot, making them an ideal upgrade choice!
This card should be a drop-in replacement, however they may require slight realignment of the fader circuit. This would be standard procedure if you were to swap an original VCA card to a different module.
These are priced individually and I hand make every single one. For those wanting to upgrade an entire console, please message me as I can provide a console retrofit package for a reduced price!
