Level matching. The samples on this disc have been matched in level during
recording. Set the input level of your sampler for one sample only, as all subsequent
samples will peak at the same level, avoiding the need for continual adjustment.
Monitoring. All sounds are recorded in mono to allow one channel to be
connected to your sampler input and the other to your mixer etc. for monitoring
purposes.
Repeats. In most cases each sample is recorded once only. With only around one
second of silence between samples. In this way, it has been possible to fit over
1000 separate items onto one compact disc. Short percussion sounds, however.
are repeated once for convenience.
Breakbeats consist of either one or two. bars of rhythm to be sampled and
programmed in on the first beat of the bar, or looped. e.g. A one-bar sample
should be programmed on your sequencer to play on the start of each bar, then
tuned until the break runs evenly.
