DKE - Death Distortion (EQD Life) - Plum Metallic
The DK Death is a versatile distortion pedal with plenty of character. It covers a wide range of sounds, from classic, Marshall-style overdrive to completely unleashed high-gain tones. And if that’s not enough, there’s also a switchable boost included.
The circuit is based on the EQD Life pedal.
● Features & Sound:
Huge Gain - More than enough gain on tap for aggressive, assertive distortion tones.
3 Clipping Modes - Symmetrical, Op-Amp, and asymmetrical - offering distinct tonal characteristics.
Analog Octave - Monophonic octave that can be blended in seamlessly, adding fullness and an aggressive, unique sonic signature.
Transparent MOSFET Boost - A switchable boost that provides extra volume and gain for when you need that little bit more.
● Layout & Controls:
Color: The pedal features a Plum Metallic finish with a brushed aluminum style faceplate.
Controls:
- Distortion: Analog Octave Distortion
- Magnitude: Controls the distortion gain.
- Filter: A low-pass filter for rolling off high frequencies.
- Amplitude: Controls the output volume of the distortion section.
- Cut: Selects between symmetrical, Op-Amp, and asymmetrical clipping modes.
- Octave: Adjusts the level of the analog, monophonic octave.
- Boost: Controls the boost level, providing additional volume and/or gain.
Signal Path:
Input → Octave → Distortion → Boost → Output
● Technical Notes:
Power Supply: 9V DC, 2.1 mm center-negative barrel connection.
Battery operation is not supported - there is no compartment for a 9V battery.
ATTENTION: DO NOT OPERATE AT A HIGHER VOLTAGE!

● About me:
I have been building guitar equipment - from amplifiers to effects pedals - for over 10 years. Under the name DK Electronics, I create hand-built gear that not only sounds great but is also designed to hold up in live performance settings.
Everything I use live with my own band is gear I built myself, and it has been running reliably for years. My units aren’t just hobbyist experiments, they are field-tested pieces of equipment built for the stage.
