Avalon Harmonics VU | VU Meter & Envelope Follower | 3HP Eurorack DIY - Unique Panel

VU is a compact mono VU meter and envelope follower with 7 green, 2 orange and 1 red LEDs. It provides an audio/CV input and a buffered output, allowing it to be placed directly before the master output without affecting the original signal. Front panel is unique (I made it).

The HOLD knob adjusts the display falloff from an almost instantaneous response to several seconds. The envelope signal is also available from the PEAK output, ranging from approximately 0V to 9V, and can be used to control other modules or create sidechain-style modulation.

The display can operate in Bar or Dot mode, selected using a jumper on the PCB. The module comes fitted with an LM3916 chip, providing a VU-meter response curve of:
-20, -10, -7, -5, -3, -1, 0, +1, +2 and +3 dB.
For an additional €8, I can also provide an interchangeable LM3915 chip, offering a logarithmic response curve with a constant 3dB step between each LED.

Module is in perfect condition. Comes complete with spring tank, rca cable, screws and connection cables. Used only in a non-smoking studio.
