Roland KC-220 Battery-Powered Stereo Keyboard Amplifier
The Roland KC-220 is a portable 30-watt stereo keyboard amplifier designed for musicians who perform anywhere, from street corners to café stages. With a removable battery cartridge supporting eight AA batteries for up to 7 hours of continuous operation (or up to 14 hours with the optional BTY-NIMH/A Ni-MH pack), the KC-220 delivers true full-range stereo sound without requiring a power outlet. Two 6.5-inch woofers and two tweeters ensure every nuance of a keyboard performance is faithfully reproduced.
Three discrete input channels — including a balanced XLR mic/line input on Channel 1, plus two additional 1/4-inch line inputs — allow the KC-220 to function as a compact stereo PA system for solo keyboard performers. Built-in DSP effects include stereo reverb, normal chorus, and wide stereo chorus, all controlled from a single Effect knob alongside dedicated LOW/HIGH EQ controls. An auxiliary input accommodating both RCA phono and 1/8-inch stereo sources handles backing tracks or phone playback.
The KC-220 outputs stereo 1/4-inch line signals at +4 dBu and features a headphone output for private monitoring. A built-in tilt-back stand enables flexible floor positioning, while a footswitch jack accommodates optional effect control. The included AC adaptor provides full 30-watt (15W + 15W) output on wall power, while battery operation yields 20 watts (10W + 10W) with only minor audible difference at performance volumes.
