Gibson's SG Supreme delivers a new take on a classic design with a rich history stemming from the rock 'n' roll tradition. The SG Supreme's return is marked by a refreshed feature set, including new pickups, new finishes, and player-centric performance features, while coming in three new finishes including Fireburst, Wine Red, and this incredible Translucent Ebony Burst.
The SG Supreme features a classic, double-horned mahogany body with a AAA figured maple top that's a big part of what makes these guitar's such a notable addition to the SG's lineage. This Wine Red variant offers a peek into the deep wood grain of maple, and is highlighted by a deep finish that accentuates the top's two bookmatched halves, creating a visual piece of art on the front of the guitar that adds a new layer of sophistication to an instrument that's notoriously associated with down-and-dirty rock n' roll.
In classic SG fashion, this Supreme boasts a mahogany neck, topped off with an ebony fretboard featuring a cozy compound radius, split by 24 medium jumbo frets and Super Split Block mother-of-pearl inlays. The mother-of-pearl doesn't stop at the fingerboard, though, as these Supremes feature a new "Chandelier" inlay on their headstocks, made of the same material, further setting them apart from other SG models.
Equipped with Burstbucker Pro and Burstbucker Pro+ pickups, the SG Supreme delivers, when it comes to tone. These Burstbuckers redefine the classic "edge" synonymous with SGs, and the Pro+ in the bridge adds an Alnico 5 magnet to kick it up a notch even further. These humbuckers' distinct, sweet richness and clear articulation stem from their bobbin windings: by replacing the conventional Alnico 2 magnets, these pickups offer a fuller, more robust tone with increased drive and attack, while retaining the trademark Gibson "PAF" sound, injected with a touch of attitude. Enhanced noise reduction allows a performance free of unwanted noise, even in high-gain setups, and a push/pull volume controls enables coil tapping, providing access to an even wider range of sounds.-------------------------------Body Material: Mahogany
