About this listing
Wefve just received a used 2026 Murphy Lab 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue! This model features a special, ultra-thin nitrocellulose lacquer developed by the department led by aging master Tom Murphy, based on years of scientific research. This results in a gUltra-Light Agedh finish that recreates the look of a vintage guitar carefully stored in its case, offering superb tone and densely etched weather checking. The wood configuration features a two-piece plain maple top, a one-piece lightweight mahogany back, a solid mahogany neck, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard. Traditional hide glue is used for all joints, resulting in a cohesive, solid-body feel that delivers the superb natural resonance and response characteristic of vintage instruments. The neck features a g50s Rounded Medium C / Chunky Ch profile for a secure grip, paired with narrow, tall gHistoric Narrow/Tallh frets, ensuring both vintage authenticity and excellent playability. It is equipped with gCustombucker Alnico 3 (Unpotted)h pickups. By leaving them unpotted, the pickups respond well to variations in picking intensity and nuance, producing a sweet, mellow vintage tone characteristic of vintage PAFs?clear yet responsive across a wide dynamic range. Furthermore, this particular guitar is exceptionally lightweight at g3.75 kg,h making it easy to handle. It also boasts an appealing tone that combines the thick, core-like sound characteristic of Les Pauls with just the right amount of airiness. Due to the light-aged finish, the details of any subsequent scratches are unclear, but combined with its age, it shows almost no signs of wear. The neck is in excellent condition, and the frets show virtually no wear. The combination of the beautiful gWashed Cherryh finish?which recreates a subtly faded color?and Murphy Labfs realistic aging process creates a truly sophisticated instrument that exudes vintage charm! * Please note that due to the nature of this product, we are unable to transfer it between stores.
