The Auratone 5C Passive Pair is a faithful reissue of the iconic reference cubes used since the 1970s to check midrange clarity and translation across real-world playback systems. Each unit features a 4.5″ full-range driver housed in a sealed 6.5″ cube enclosure with no crossover, designed to offer linear, phase-coherent response in the critical vocal and instrument range.

Manufactured in Nashville using original tooling and American parts, the 5C delivers consistent tonal focus with minimal room interaction. These monitors are designed to work with a high-quality amplifier in the 20–100 W range per channel, ideally with flat response and low coloration.

Best used as a secondary reference next to full-range monitors, the 5C reveals masking, buildup, and harshness often hidden in more flattering systems. Engineers use them to refine midrange decisions, vocal presence, and overall balance for translation to consumer systems like phones, laptops, and TV speakers.
