Very cool vintage Shure Stratoliner Sonodyne microphone, dating to approximately the 1940s, featuring the unmistakable Art Deco streamlined design that makes these early Shure microphones so collectible.
This example appears to be original and has a fantastic untouched vintage appearance, including the original black grille/body, red accent stripe, metal mounting hardware, and attached connector/control housing.
Cosmetically, it shows plenty of age-appropriate wear, oxidation, dust, scratches, and patina. I have intentionally not cleaned or restored it, as I prefer to leave vintage pieces like this in their original condition. Please inspect the photos carefully for the exact cosmetic condition.
The microphone has not been tested, so I am selling it as-is for restoration, parts, display, or collection. I cannot guarantee the condition of the internal element, wiring, switch/control, or other electrical components.
A particularly attractive example of an early Shure microphone and a great candidate for a vintage microphone collection, recording studio display, period-correct restoration, or conversion project.
