About this listing
This 2022 Gibson Custom Shop 1960 Les Paul Standard Murphy Lab Heavy Aged represents one of the highest levels of fidelity Gibson can offer today. Crafted to replicate the characteristics of the legendary 1960 Burst models, this version meticulously recreates the specifications of the early 1960s, retaining the typical neck profile of the late '59s before the tapering that occurred in later months. Every detail, from construction to finish, stems from an in-depth study of original instruments, restoring not only the aesthetics but also the feel and sonic response that have made these Les Pauls among the most coveted guitars of all time. The Murphy Lab Heavy Aged treatment takes realism to the next level. Scratches, checks, and worn paint and hardware are handcrafted with impressive care, giving the sensation of holding an instrument that has spanned over sixty years of history. The result is a guitar with authentic charm, with a lived-in yet incredibly believable look, capable of thrilling both the collector and the musician who desires the character and personality of a true Burst, without the compromises and costs of an original example.
