About this listing
While the Explorer wasn't a huge success when it was first introduced in 1958, guitarists revisited the model and discovered its many charms as the years passed. Rockers began to embrace its futuristic shape and powerful sound by the 1970s, but during the hard rocking 80s, the model came into its owns and was adopted by some of the greatest players of the decade. The 80s Explorer is based on the popular 1984 model. It features a fast-playing SlimTaper mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard. The iconically-shaped mahogany body is outfitted with "80s Tribute" pickups that accurately capture the unique fat-toned sound and rich sustain of the models from that era. A hardshell case is also included.Specs:-Body Shape: Explorer-Material: Mahogany-Neck: Mahogany-Neck Profile: Slim Taper-Nutwidth: 1.695"/43.053mm-Fingerboard: Indian Rosewood-Scale length: 24.75:/628.65mm-Number of frets: 22-Nut: Graph Tech-Inlay: Acrylic Dots-Bridge: Aluminum Nashville Tune-O-Matic-Tailpiece: Aluminum Stop Bar-Knobs: Amber Top Hats and Gold Top Hats with Gold Reflector & Pointers-Tuners: Grover Mini Rotomatic-Plating: Chrome-Neck pickup: 80s Tribute-Bridge pickup:80s Tribute-Controls: 2 Volume, Master Tone, Hand-wired with Orange Drop Capacitors-Case: Hardshell Case
