Up for sale is a rare vintage lap steel guitar from the golden era of Fender. According to several reports, in mid 50s Fender started to brand their Deluxe Studio 6 models as "White" (name of production's line manager Forrest White), apparently for some local marketing/business needs. Some reports claim this branding has lived only a couple years, while others say it ran until 1962. This particular guitar has pots stamped 1962 so I dare to assume this year as a manufacturing date.Woods are ash body, one original pickup with volume/tone controls . Electronics seem to be all original and works without any issues. The cream ashtray cover is missing. Original legs are included, functionality is confirmed.Great condition for at 65 years old instrument, with only minor signs of wear that are expected on any 1960s guitar - I would dare to label it as "Excellent". It is not a case queen, but one might have a hard time finding another "White" in such a clean condition. Sounds fantastic - it is that classic lap steel tone heard on countless country records as we know it. New set of GHS C6 is installed. Comes in original hardshell case and with a slide bar.
