About this listing
Fender Custom Shop '51 Precision Bass in Nocaster Blonde, serial 3531, with Fender Custom Shop G&G tweed hardshell case. This is Fender Custom Shop's recreation of the original 1951 Precision Bass design, before Fender added the contoured body and later split-coil pickup that became synonymous with the Precision Bass.It has the early slab-style ash body, Tele-style headstock, black single-ply pickguard, single-coil P-Bass pickup, chrome control plate, string-through-body construction and vintage two-saddle bridge with fiber saddles.Serial number 3531 is stamped into the bridge plate in the period-correct location. The bass is in excellent condition and has been very well cared for. The translucent blonde finish shows the ash grain nicely. There is some normal patina and oxidation on the vintage-style hardware, particularly the tuning machines. Please review the detailed photos for condition.Features:• Early-'50s slab-style Precision Bass body • Ash body • Nocaster Blonde translucent finish • Maple neck and fingerboard • Tele-style Precision Bass headstock • Black dot position markers • Black single-ply pickguard • Vintage-style single-coil P-Bass pickup • Master volume and tone controls • Chrome control plate • Vintage two-saddle bridge with fiber saddles • String-through-body construction • Vintage-style open-gear tuners • Chrome pickup cover • Bridge-stamped serial number 3531Includes the pictured Fender Custom Shop G&G tweed hardshell case and case accessories. The combination of the slab body, Tele-style headstock and original-style single-coil pickup makes these early Precision recreations substantially different from the familiar later P-Bass design.
