About this listing
2008 Fender Classic Series ’72 Telecaster Deluxe in Walnut, complete with a hard case, Fender accessories and an interesting personal history. This is a player’s guitar that plays well, with all-original electronics. It has scratches, chips and other cosmetic wear from use, so please review the pictures carefully. This is not a mint-condition or collector-grade instrument. Sold as is.I purchased this guitar in Arizona in 2015 after its previous owner passed away. According to the history shared with me, he was a longtime Fender salesman whose career spanned the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s. He reportedly worked directly with Leo Fender and George Fullerton in California before later working in Arizona. This ’72 Telecaster Deluxe reissue pairs classic ’70s styling with dual Fender Wide Range humbuckers, a maple neck and fingerboard, and the distinctive oversized Stratocaster-style headstock. Independent volume and tone controls for each pickup offer plenty of tonal flexibility.Specifications• Year: 2008• Model: Fender Classic Series ’72 Telecaster Deluxe• Model number: 0137702392• Serial number: MZ8052870• Made in Mexico• Alder body with gloss polyester Walnut finish• Maple neck with “C” profile and gloss urethane finish• Maple fingerboard with 12-inch radius• 21 medium-jumbo frets• 25.5-inch scale length• Two Fender Wide Range humbucking pickups• All-original electronics• Three-way pickup selector• Independent volume and tone controls for each pickup• Six-saddle string-through-body hardtail bridge• Fender vintage “F”-stamped tuners• Three-ply black pickguard• Skirted amp-style control knobsIncluded• Original hard case, as acquired with the guitar• Original Fender strap• Fender Twentieth Anniversary 2005 T-shirt acquired with the guitar• Assorted paperwork and case candy shown in the photosCondition and sale termsA used player’s guitar that plays well and shows cosmetic wear, including scratches and chips.
