Overview
The MXL 2003A is an update to the original 2003 model, a large diaphragm condenser microphone with fixed cardioid polar pattern and transformerless FET electronics. The capsule is skinned with 3-micron film, which generally leads to a brighter sound, but the 2003A is notably softer in frequency response compared to other MXL microphones and similar Chinese-capsule specimens.
