About this listing
Up for sale this 1973 Fender Jazz Bass (refin Lake Placid blue). Nice sounding resonant bass with a great 70’s look and feel, with some modifications common in 70’s. The bass guitar is almost original, except finish, PU’s and some parts. NECK - Original 4-bolt neck. The faded stamp on the heel seems to be: “xx434” → “xx” unable to read, 4 = 4th week of the year, 3 = 1973, 4 = 4th day of the week (thursday). Rosewood fingerboard, block inlays, white binding without damage, original PU finish. Truss rod is working without any stress. No buzzes, no twist or dead spots, frets ok.BODY - The original body was refinished years ago to nice nitro LPB - lake placid blue, but I do not know real date of the refin. The body has now some nice aged natural cracks in the finish and few dings, dongs - I can send any additional pics, you would need. NECK PLATE - number: 424046 - refers to production year 1973 (or early 1974), Made in Fullerton, USA.POTS - The original CTS pots - number: 032367 250K-A-1377429.PICKUPS - Both pickups are not original Fender pickups, they were changed in 1980s for DiMarzio (80s JB model) with white nice cream covers (similar to today's model DP 123). This was quite common modification in 80s. Fat sound. other - Tuners work great. Original hardware (probably except 1 saddle and 1 spring in the bridge). Red tortoise pickguard is not 70s original (→ jazz bass reissue 4ply brown tortoise pickguard), but it is period correct and looks great on the bass. Both ashtray covers included (I have not used them).case - Comes in contemporary non-original hardshell black case.shipping - INTERNATIONAL buyers (especially outside EU) please contact me (with your adress) to find out more exact shipping fees to your country.Feel free to ask for more info.
