For sale: Electro-Harmonix x JHS Pedals Big Muff Pi “Big Muff 2” Dual Op-Amp, in brand new condition.
This unique Big Muff is based on a previously undiscovered schematic by Big Muff inventor Bob Myer, found during research for the book Made On Earth For Rising Stars: The Electro-Harmonix Story. The design used two dual op-ampsto reinterpret the classic Big Muff circuit — a concept that was never produced and remained forgotten for nearly 50 years.
JHS Pedals and Electro-Harmonix brought this “lost” design to life, creating a Big Muff that delivers more aggressive gain, stronger mids, and a powerful low end, while still keeping the familiar Big Muff control layout.
Compared to the classic Op-Amp Big Muff, the Big Muff 2 features:
- A unique clipping arrangement
- Additional gain stage
- Higher output and more pronounced midrange
- Classic Volume, Sustain, and Tone controls
The result is a louder, sharper, and more cutting Big Muff, with massive sustain and a distinctive character unlike other versions.
