F.E. Olds Custom-CHR "High Range" Trumpet; Ryan Kisor, Silver Plate, Fullerton, 1973

Up for consideration is this F.E. Olds & Son custom crafted "Custom-CHR" high range trumpet. This particular horn is from the private collection of esteemed jazz trumpeter Ryan Kisor. Among being a member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra since 1994, Kisor’s discography has over 170 credits to his name. As a native to the Sioux City area, it has been a privilege to serve Ryan and his family for many years. We consider it a great honor to offer several instruments of his personal collection for sale on our Reverb store.

This trumpet is in mint condition and only shows very minor wear. The silver plating is close to perfect; there is very light scratching on the valve block. The valves are fast and aligned. The slides are smooth and straight. The bell engraving is very clear. Included In the sale is an Olds hardcase that is in great condition. The unique horn design completely eliminates a traditional tuning slide and is tuned at the bell; the leadpipe extends from the mouthpiece receiver to the third valve casing. The serial number, 884174, dates the horn to 1973-74.
