22" GM Designs Half Spiral Dark Ride – Dark, Trashy & Atmospheric!

Part ride, part effects cymbal, and entirely unconventional.

Introducing our latest experimental creation, the 22" Half Spiral Dark Ride.

We started with a thin, dark ride and introduced a sweeping half-spiral cut, creating a suspended section of bronze that hangs below the main body of the cymbal.

The result is an instrument with multiple personalities. The center retains some stick definition for ride patterns, while the bell delivers a pleasing, distinct tone. Move toward the outer edge or strike the suspended spiral section, and things get wonderfully trashy, with an atmospheric wash and an unpredictable, effects-driven character.

Its dark, heavily textured surface adds to its distinctive appearance, while the unusual construction opens up entirely new possibilities for creative playing.

From subtle ride patterns to explosive, trashy accents, this prototype invites you to explore different playing surfaces and discover sounds you won't find in a conventional cymbal.
