This particular instrument is a 2010 used model based on the OOO-42. It features an Adirondack spruce top, rosewood sides and back, a select hardwood modified V-shaped neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, Martin logo Gotoh nickel open-back tuners, abalone rosette, tortoiseshell pickguard, snowflake fingerboard inlays, old-style Golden Era large decals, Golden Era scalloped X-bracing using Adirondack spruce, and a long saddle. The rare Adirondack spruce used for the top is of premium grade, resulting in a very powerful and focused sound. The sound has a fast attack, a deep sense of scale in the low frequencies, and sustains well into the high frequencies without thinning out, accompanied by rich harmonics. This guitar boasts a delicate yet brilliant tone, characteristic of the '42 series, making it a truly delightful instrument. While there are minor dents, scratches, binding repairs, and a small chip on the tip of the pickguard from use, there are no cracks or significant damage that detracts from its appearance, suggesting it has been carefully maintained. The neck condition is excellent, and you can fully enjoy the superior sound that cannot be found in regular models. An original hard case is included.
