About this listing
The Syntax Error XP is a digital multi-engine chaos pedal — eight sound modes covering glitchy buffer madness, lo-fi reverb, ring modulation, FM warping, frequency shifting, digital distortion, broken pitch shifting, and an envelope-controlled sample crusher. All of it runs on Alexander’s Leap Series platform, which means stereo I/O, 32 presets, an assignable LFO, and enough processing power to make your clean signal sound like a Gateway 2000 on its last legs. Each mode has its own set of tweakable parameters. The BARF control on Glitch Shift is exactly what it sounds like. The DYNAMIC mode automatically adjusts sample rate based on how hard you play. Expression, MIDI, ramp function, and bypass trails round out a pedal that punches well above its size.Y2K didn’t destroy civilization. This might finish the job.SOUND MODES:STRETCH — glitchy buffer, variable speed and direction playbackAIR — early low-memory rack reverb simulation with sample-crush dirtRING — ring modulator from tremolo to gonging robots, with random sample & holdCUBE — digital distortion via math, resonant filterFREQ — frequency shifter (not pitch) with fixed Hz offset, phaser-like texturesWAVE — FM modulation between vibrato and clangy percussive messGLITCH SHIFT — pitch shifting with no safety rails + BARF controlDYNAMIC — envelope-controlled sample crusher that reacts to playing dynamicsFEATURES: • Eight independent sound engines • 32 onboard presets (4 banks of 8), no external controller needed • Assignable LFO for parameter automation • Expression/ramp morphing across all knobs simultaneously • Stereo input (TRS) and stereo output (TRS or dual) • MultiJack for expression pedal, footswitch, or MIDI • USB port for MIDI control and firmware updates • Configurable bypass: hard, full trails, or auto trailsSPECS: • Switching: Buffered Bypass • Power: 9V DC only, min. 250mA (isolated supply required) • Input impedance: 1MΩ • Output impedance: 560Ω • Dimensions: 11.9 × 6.6 × 3.8 cm • Presets: 32
