1978 Sigma DR-7 Dreadnought
Up for sale today is the guitar that put Sigma on the map. This is, according to Japanese "lawsuit-era" acoustic collectors, as close as one can get to the tone and feel of a vintage Martin without shelling out the $5,000 it would cost!
This is fresh out of the shop with a professional setup, brand-new D'addario 12-56 gauge strings, a complete fret polish, and a full cleaning. This old girl is ready to sing again, and with the huge, boomy tone and projection that is has, that will fill the room and nearly overpower a real D28, she might just earn a place in your collection as the bluegrass queen! Take a look at that stunningly-aged and tastefully-ambered spruce top, with a jaw-droppingly lovely set of rosewood to set the contrast. This guitar is as aesthetically appealing as it is fun to play, and it's a real peach to play!
These are small dings and light scratches here and there that you'd expect from a 40-year-old instrument, but it's been surprisingly well-kept and has 100% structural integrity with no cracks, bellying, or issues of any kind! Replaced tuning keys and truss rod cover are the only things that are non-original on her, and considering the quality of the original keys, that left quite a bit to desire, that's probably an upgrade!
At this price, she won't be around for long! So snatch this rare piece of Martin history up before someone else does!
