Only 500 of these were ever produced! From Honky Tonk's to Uptown Jazz Clubs this Blonde Combo has seen it all. It looks like a Meerschaum Pipe. I can't express how cool this Amp is, the Patina is off the Charts.CONDITION: This Twin Amp, has the look of a well played and well loved Vintage Amp. Cosmetically it shows its age but also it's experience it a totally good way. Played in the Clubs and Honky Tonks at numerous Gigs it has the aged look of an old musicians hopes and dreams. It is another fantastic piece from a local studio and it has had so many recordings ran through it. It has been maintained and kept in service and it is amazing playing and sounding condition. This Amp is running like a Swiss Watch. Includes the Original Cover and Footswitch too.Speakers: Sweet pair of 1959 Jensen P12QL Alnico 40 Watt, these sound so lush. These are not the Oxfords this probably came with , but when you hear it, it is an improvement.SHIPPING: This Amp will be shipped in 2 Boxes, we will pull the Chassis and ship that with the Tubes separate from the Cabinet. In 1960, the amp was updated with Tolex covering, initially in a brown color, marking the beginning of the "brownface" era. The 6G8 circuit was introduced at this time, but was quickly superseded in 1961 by the slightly revised 6G8-A circuit, which featured a more complex and rich-sounding harmonic vibrato circuit that used an extra 12AX7 tube. The 1962 model year is a specific iteration within the 1961-1963 production run of the blonde Twin-Amp. Key historical details include: Aesthetics: The 1962 amp featured a white (blonde) Tolex covering and a maroon grille cloth for much of the year, though a switch to wheat grille cloth occurred late in 1962.Rarity: The blonde Twin-Amp was a very limited production run, with some estimates suggesting fewer than 500 units were made, making it a valuable collector's item today.Power and Speakers: The amp was the most powerful combo in Fender's lineup at the time, pushing around 80 watts through two 12-inch speakers. The power often exceeded the capacity of available speakers, leading many original units to be fitted with more robust JBL D-120F speakers, which could handle the output.Circuitry: The 6G8-A circuit is noted for its high headroom, allowing for very clean tones even at high volumes. It does not have onboard reverb, which was a feature introduced with its successor, the Twin Reverb, in 1963.
