These guys have active pickups (with one control on there being a boost and one being an active tone circuit with a notch in the middle) and so there's a 9V battery behind the smaller back panel. They can do all sorts of work -- clean, country-sounding stuff straight-on into heavier stuff that feeds off of the boost rolled to maximum. It's fun!I like the product design, too -- sort-of like a period sports car. It's retro-futuristic in its own way and the funny bit is that the pickup housings remind me of old '50s Franz pickups while the bridge and knobs are very '80s.The neck is classsic '80s Tele -- a shallower board radius with a C/soft-V profile. It's quick and easy.Repairs included: Sarah and Jacobi did a level/dress of the frets, Jacobi set it up, and I made a few minor adjustments.
