About this listing
Fender Standard Jazz Bass guitar body. Taken from a 1992 bass made in Mexico.Black finish.I have other parts of this bass available - see my other listings. Good general condition with signs of age and use, a little roadworn with minor indents and surface mark in places. As you can see from the pics this body does not have the usual MIM identifying / jig hole ,it is generally accepted that early MIM production especially after the 1991 Fender Ensenada factory fire utilised USA bodies and necks produced in Corona, California and I believe this is one of those, there are other examples of this on the net if you dig deep enough.I did some research and found a few other examples of this. I found one 'California Series' bass where the pocket had identical hole pattern to this ( last picture in my photos ) , and seen here - A different thread about a similar age body also with no hole - And a Strat with no holes - Going from my experience I am sure this is the original body , there were non of the usual tell tale signs of a parts guitar such as additional screw holes in the heel of the neck or additional scratchplate screws on the body etc, the hardware looks correct , the control plate had the small pots with Strat type knobs as used on early MIM Jazz basses, the pickup cavity routing shape looks correct for this period MIM albeit slightly rough on the internal surface compared to more recent basses I have seen. FYI I have also included pics of the original necks headstock and heel - the neck is not included in this sale.Anyway - please check the pics.65mm approx neck pocket width. A used bass body , a little roadworn, as pictured.Free UK shipping.
