About this listing
The SK20 is a string-based analog synthesizer released in 1980. It is a "SYNPHONIC ENSEMBLE" synthesizer capable of layered performance using three parts: ORGAN, STRINGS, and POLYSYNTH. The ORGAN section features 3 presets + manual mode. It can be controlled via drawbar-style sliders. It also features an 11-pin Leslie output. The Strings section has 2 presets. While not editable, it delivers a warm analog string sound. The poly synth section has 3 presets + manual. It delivers a quintessential analog synth sound with polyphonic capability. The filter and resonance offer substantial control. These 3 voices can be layered for performance, creating a rich, substantial sound. It produces a truly remarkable sound that's hard to achieve with other synths. Though often overshadowed by the CS series, it's a legendary Yamaha instrument.
