About this listing
This is a 1981 Yamaha SG-600 that has been substantially overhauled and upgraded, and it sounds killer. A previous owner had a complete overhaul performed by Scott Miller of Stonewall pickups and naked guitar repair, getting new Jescar 54100 medium jumbo refret, new hand cut bone nut, and all new cts 500k pots with orange drop capacitors. I had the pickups replaced with Gravelin PAFs with chrome covers which alone are $300. This is an amazing sounding and playing guitar. As for condition… the top is in very good condition. It definitely has marks, a few smaller dents, and some scratches, and I’ve tried to show them in the photographs. There are a lot of marks, dents, and chips on the back, headstock, and lower bout that I’ve tried to show. I’ve listed the guitar as “good” because of all the marks but there are no breaks or repairs (other than than the overhaul noted above). There are also indents on the neck but they do not photograph, but they do not impact playability. It is a “player” but it sounds killer. Comes with an SKB hardshell case. The pickups and case alone would be a $500 hit new. Weight is 8.6 lbs on my bathroom scale.
