This 1962 VOX AC15, produced during the JMI era, represents one of the most sought-after configurations of the pre-Beatles period. The amplifier retains the characteristic aesthetics of the time: black covering, red/gold diamond grille cloth, gold piping, and a black VOX plastic handle mounted on metal brackets. The maroon control panel features the classic two-channel layout, Channel I and Channel II, each with its own Volume control, accompanied by the Brilliance and Top Cut controls and the power and voltage selectors.The speaker is a blue VOX/JMI-branded unit, with a blue-painted frame and central label, typical of early-sixties VOX amplifiers. This type of speaker is known for its bright response, fast dynamics, and musical compression that defined the sound of JMI-era AC15 and AC30 amplifiers. The wiring uses twisted two-tone conductors, consistent with original construction practices.The rear panel includes the classic Jennings Musical Industries warning plate with specifications.There are signs of age consistent with a sixty-year-old amplifier.
