About this listing
The Mayones Aquila Cardinal 6 B27 Baritone in Antique Black Matt is a formidable signature-grade instrument designed in collaboration with Architects guitarist Adam Christianson. Built around a resonant TEW (Tonally Enhanced Wood) American ash body and finished in a understated, sleek Antique Black Matt across the top, back, neck, and headstock, this 27" baritone powerhouse delivers crushing low-end tightness, exceptional dynamic range, and effortless playability for extended-range metal and low-tuned heavy riffs.
The guitar's bolt-on neck construction features a rigid 1-piece 1pc TEW maple neck reinforced with two carbon fiber rods. Paired with a dark ebony fretboard boasting a clean, plain face, a 12" radius, 24 Ferd Wagner stainless steel frets, and SB-20 Super Blue side dots for dark stages, it offers immediate speed and razor-sharp intonation across its extended 27" scale length. Factory-tuned to Drop B, it retains exceptional string tension and note definition without sacrificing comfort.
Sonically, the Aquila Cardinal B27 is loaded with a boutique Velvetrone 6-string humbucker set—an Ironside in the bridge position and a Solium in the neck. Outfitted with brushed nickel covers and black screws, these pickups are controlled by a Bourns 500A volume pot with push-pull capability and the Mayones Treble Bleed Mod (placed in tone position), alongside an Electroswitch 3-way lever selector switch. This electronic package produces everything from high-gain, punchy rhythm tracks to glassy, articulate split cleans.
The all-black hardware setup is engineered for rock-solid stability, headlined by a Hipshot 6-string hardtail bridge, Gotoh 510 locking tuners, Graph Tech Tusq nut, Switchcraft 1/4" jack, and Schaller Security Locks. Handcrafted in Poland, this baritone beast represents the ultimate tool for modern low-tuned performance.
