Fano’s MG6 takes a Mustang-inspired body and pairs it with a full 25.5” scale length for a guitar that can do everything. We spec’d this one with a trio of Lollar Special S pickups that lean bigger and ballsier than a vintage pickup without losing their fidelity. And still the middle positions quack with the best of them. They also take on generous levels of gain with ease.The Sonic Blue finish is tastefully distressed, and we were stoked to see how the Lake Placid competition stripes complemented the guitar. The Gotoh 510T trem is a modern update on a classic. The tremolo arm is threaded on the inside for a more precise fit, and the tremolo also features an adjustable collet that gives you control of whether the arm hangs or stands at attention.How Does It PlayThe string action hovers right around 4/64” across all strings at the 12th fret, nice and low without buzz. The neck feels instantly broken-in with the nitro finish sanded off the back, The early ‘60s-inspired C profile is temperately slim, but with a nice amount of shoulder to support the hand and thwart fatigue.
