Overview
The Acme Audio Opticom XLA-500 is a 500 Series optical compressor with tube makeup gain -- a scaled-down, modular version of the company's rackmounted XLA-3 MKII. The XLA-500 is inspired by the classic LA-2A design, but adds a switch for multiple time constants and uses Cinemag transformers for input and output.
