STC/Coles 4104 1950s, 1960s - Brown

This is an STC (Coles) 4104 noise-cancelling ribbon Commentator Microphone. These BBC-designed microphones were manufactured by STC (Standard Telephones and Cables Limited) until the Coles company took over manufacture in the mid 1970s.
This an original STC version that has not been used (except for a quick test). It is in mint condition and comes with a fitted metal (aluminium) carry case AKA a transit case.
The provenance of this microphone can be further proven via the accompanying WARNING leaflet which is pictured in the listing. This leaflet has a rip in it which was caused by myself when removing it from the transit box. As you can imagine I swore like a trooper when this accidental rip happened.
Coles still manufacture and sell these microphones as they are ideal for noisy environments such as football stadiums and Formula One races. This is a unique old stock perfectly functioning and unused original STC version of the mic. They don't come up here or anywhere else very often.
