SONY TCM5000ev + Tape Loops Mods

For sale an awesome SONY TCM5000ev in an exceptional condition.

As a lo-fi music lover i've performed 3 mods that allows to play and record tape loops on this tape:

1. Disabling "instability detection" mechanism.    

     by default these machines can't really play tape loops, cause when the playback is not stable it will eventually stop after 5 seconds. Tape loops are not stable, there is no consistent tension of the tape. Disabling this allows you to play and record tape loops without any problem.

2. Disabling "end of the tape" alarm mechanism.

 by default when recording tape loops it thinks that the cassette came to its end and will constantly alarm with an annoying beep.

3. Allowing SPEED control to affect RECORDING and not only playback

   by default SPEED Control affects only playback (same with Marantz). Now it works during recording as well, so recording on a high speed and lowering the playback even more (or vice versa) now possible.

These modifications are internal and not affecting the quality of the playback or any crucial functionality of the tape.

Sony tapes are also awesome as an analog Tape Delays with correct routing using any mixer. And its VOR mode doubles the speed of the delay and add a very nice compression to repeats.
