Produced by Bill Bartolini in the 1970s before transitioning to the Bartolini brand name, this vintage Hi-A split-coil bass pickup is an exceptional piece of early aftermarket pickup design. Built for Precision Bass routing, it features closed black covers with embossed silver-white Hi-A logos and copper-clad printed circuit board baseplates.
The pickup meters out at a healthy 7.49 kΩ DC resistance across the pair. Known for full-range clarity, punchy low-end definition, and low noise, early Hi-A pickups remain popular upgrades for vintage bass restorations and custom builds seeking authentic 1970s boutique tone.
