Joe Despagni Jem

⚠️🚨COLLECTOR’S ALERT🚨⚠️

!RARE FIND!

You are looking at a great piece, Extremely RARE!

This is the Despagni JEM Custom Blue Marbel Jem electric guitar, year 1988!

Signed and dated by Joe! 25.5" scale. 42mm nut width. 6 lbs 7 oz. .76" -.85" 1st to 12th fret neck depth.

Joe Despagni was responsible for some of the coolest designs in '80s rock - most notably Steve Vai's guitars, including the 'Swiss Cheese' and 'Flames' guitars, as well as the swirl-dipped finishes. Despagni also did Randy Coven's bass guitars. This guitar was custom made by Despagni and showcases his radical body style. This guitar is super lightweight, which not only saves your shoulders but also allows for a fantastic resonant tone. The pickups here are a DiMarzio humbucking (double) on the bridge and DiMarzio single coil mounted directly on the body, to capture that resonance. These pickups are also painted blue to match the finish. Every pickup has its own 3-way humbucker/off/split switch. 2 pickups, tons of tone options. The maple/rosewood neck here has a slim, fast feel at .80" deep at the 5th fret with an elliptical C profile. Add to that the 10"-16" compound radius and you have a fantastic, player-friendly chord and effortless bends. The cherry on top is the signature on the neck plate: Joseph P. Despagni, 10/88, blue marbel Jem!!!

After Vai’s endorsement by Ibanez, after the Ibanez deal in '87, he did not use other brands no longer, but had a special Jem dipped by Joe with the same blue marble finishing, as You can see pictured!

Joe built guitars before and after his Ibanez contract and introduction of the JEM guitars at Summer NAMM 1987. None were mass produced or resold to the public, except the Flame Guitar.

Ibanez Lo-pro double-locking backrouted tremolo so you can dive into the depths or into the stratosphere. The look here is absolutely gorgeous - custom 'blue marbel Jem' metallic finish, and the headstock has the original JEM logo, which was Joe's brand name before he sold it to Ibanez! chrome hardware. This JEM is in fantastic condition - there are typical marks from normal use - nothing that affects the tone or playability. The frets here are clean - and plays like a dream!

Sale includes the original case. This is your chance to get your hands on a classic and extremely rare Despagni JEM. Don't miss out!
