Eastman Strings is a renowned instrument manufacturer based in Beijing, China. The company produces guitars, mandolins, violins, violas, cellos, and double basses using carefully seasoned, high-quality tonewoods. Eastman has earned strong recognition in Japan as well as throughout Europe.

This is the new Eastman PCH-M104/GB, a flat-top mandolin with an oval soundhole and deep-body construction.

Featuring a classic appearance reminiscent of traditional Gibson-style instruments, the PCH-M104/GB combines a flat-top construction with a deep body, creating a completely different type of mandolin from the conventional F-style design.

The gentle yet expansive tone has a spacious character reminiscent of a small 12-string guitar. Its tonal character is distinctly different from that of traditional F-style mandolins, making it particularly suitable for jazz, blues, folk, and singer-songwriter applications.

After arrival, the instrument was carefully set up in our in-house workshop. The nut and saddle were adjusted, and the strings were replaced with extra-light gauge strings (.009 and up) to further improve playability.

The result is a very comfortable and easy-to-play setup, making this model an excellent choice for players who are considering taking up mandolin for the first time.

Please note that the photos shown on the product page are sample images, so the actual wood grain may differ from the images.

This is a brand-new instrument and comes with an original gig bag.
