About this listing
You are looking at a Victory V40 Duchess MKI in very good condition. This is one of Victory's most successful amps providing one simple, all-valve channel that does gorgeous cleans and sweet British break-up - taking pedals beautifully. No menus, no channel-switching clutter: plug in, set the voice and it responds to every nuance of your picking and your guitar’s volume knob. It’s a genuine “feel” amp.The sound: Voice I gives you warm, mid-’60s American-style cleans with sparkle and headroom. Voice II is a touch stronger with a more ’50s character. Push the gain and hit the Mid-Kick switch and the Duchess shifts into classic ’60s British blues-rock territory, thickening up single notes and chords. It’s also a superb pedal platform: drives, fuzzes and modulation all sit perfectly on top of its clean tone.Built for gigging: The compact lunchbox format weighs around 8.2 kg, so it’s easy to carry to rehearsals and gigs, yet it has the punch and headroom to hold its own on stage. The power section can also be scaled down for bedroom and studio levels, so you can get valve saturation without the volume.Features:Single-channel, all-valve, around 40 wattsEL34 power valves, switchable to 6L6Voice switch and Mid-Kick switchFootswitchable digital reverb with hard bypassSeries effects loop with hard bypassReduced-power / single-ended mode for lower volumesSkeletonised metal chassis with rubber handleHand-built in the UKCondition: Genuinely very good. The only things of note would be some of the text on the topside wearing off slightly, as well as a few very slight scratches - again on the top. I have tried to present these in the photos. The amp has been gigged only twice and all functions have been tested and are working perfectly. Valves haven't been changed for 2 years but show no sign of needing to be, as the amp has seen light use only. The gigibag is in fair condition - certainly functional and generally clean, but it has been worn on the inside panels by the screws on the amp's sides.Included: Padded carry bag, reverb footswitch, manual and power cable.A boutique-quality amp at a fraction of boutique prices. Carefully packed and shipped promptly.
