Fender Custom Shop Vintage Custom 1955 Stratocaster NOS Maple Fingerboard Wide-Fade 2-Color Sunburst, including Fender Custom Shop hard case with case candyIn the critical years following the groundbreaking introduction of the Stratocaster in 1954, this iconic guitar underwent subtle changes that solidified its status as the ultimate electric guitar. The Vintage Custom 1955 Stratocaster features several cool, rare characteristics that, in our opinion, represent the best of the Strat® origins and offer a glimpse into the innovations that were essential to its development. The NOS flash-coat lacquer finish allows the guitar to breathe and highlights the natural wood grain through the wide-fade 2-Color Sunburst finish. The neck has a vintage 7.25"-9.5" compound radius, which we've found on a few rare models, giving the guitar a unique feel compared to other vintage-inspired models. It also features medium vintage frets, slightly larger than standard vintage frets, providing a very comfortable playing experience.Other standout features include Closet Classic hardware, a two-piece ash body, a tinted maple rift-sawn neck with a '54 "U"-shaped profile, 21 medium vintage frets, hand-wound '55 Strat pickups with transition '54 covers, a 5-way switch, vintage wiring, an American Vintage synchronized tremolo bridge, a bone nut, a round string tree, and vintage-style tuners.The Vintage Custom 1955 Stratocaster is the legendary guitar you know and love, with a rare "what could have been" flair.
