Akai XE8 16-bit Drum Expander Module 1988

Awesome rack drum sample unit with awesome raw sounds as stock - incredibly punchy kicks with varying degrees of aggro to the attack sound, snares ranging from thick cracks to snappy, big toms, and more aggression again in the cymbal sounds. Has plenty of sought after non-linearity in the digital to analogue converters, and tuning any samples down can give some really interesting dirt too. Has some interesting options for midi controlled parameters, including tuning, sustain, and velocity sensitivity, and you can also make some horrid noises with pitch sweeping and reversing samples. There's some really interesting circuit bent versions of these that make ungodly noises of your into that sort of thing too.

Has room for 2 expansion cards, I've got the 801 "Dry Set" & 802 "Ambient Set" which add another 16 samples each, again some really interesting your face stuff in there. Anyone outside the UK buying cards aswell I'll refund the extra postage (it's free otherwise!)

I've got videos of all the samples working and have them for both cards too so send a message if you'd like to hear them. If you want a demo of any of the weirder sounds down tuning or messing about with anything it can do, or have any other questions, just ask!
