The Gibson Firebird has always been the oddball rocker in Gibson’s lineup, with its reverse body shape and biting mini-humbuckers cutting through classic rock and alternative records alike. This 1996 Nashville-made example keeps the vintage-style three-pickup look, though the middle pickup here is a dummy cover and not wired. The bridge cavity was routed for a full-size humbucker at some point, but the original mini has since been reinstalled, keeping that bright, focused Firebird snap intact.

Middle pickup is a dummy, just a cover with no pickup underneath. Bridge cavity previously routed for full-size humbucker, original mini reinstalled. D and A machine heads require service as are getting on a bit.
Top has been refinished in almost black nitro however isn't completely opaque, showing a moderate amount of mahogany grain under certain light (pictured). Some minor finish cracks from wings to the rear of neck.
Includes original Gibson hard shell case.
