The Chrome over Brass snare drum was first introduced by Ludwig back in 1960 as an predecessor of the iconic Supraphonic. Once it got replace by the Supraphonic, it became one of the most sought-after drums and so it got its release in the 90's.
The Chrome over Brass has a chrome-plated brass shell, making it harder and stiffer (please note; this is truely different from a LM400 Supraphonic snare which has a chrome over ALUMINIUM shell!). If you thought your Black Beauty was loud and punchy; think again! This snare is bright, focused and tight and the depth measurement of 5" further emphasizes all that.
