Glen Ellyn, IL, United States
About this listing
A classic workhorse amp with analog solid state reliability! Many folks praise the Peavey Transtube clean channel as a pedal platform, but the gain channel on these is the real gem in my opinion - very usable tones from crunch to metal, and can get adequately Marshally if you crank the mids and treble and dial back the bass. Top that off with a manageable size (21.5" x 18 x 10.5", 39 lbs.), rugged construction, and real spring reverb, all made in the USA, and you've got a fantastic deal on a gigging amp. This one is in solid condition for its age as shown in the photos. The two things of note:- The red stripes have been painted over and the plastic faceplate decal has been removed for a blackout look. I've had a number of these older Peavey Transtube models over the years, and I always blackout the red stripe models for a cleaner look on stage and in studio.- There appears to be some slight oxidization on the speaker frame and transformer, but as far as I know this has never experienced any abuse beyond standard gigging. It has served me flawlessly as a rehearsal amp and backup to my Marshall at a handful of outdoor shows over the last few years. It will ship double boxed with adequate padding. I always ship quickly with Reverb protection and I'm happy to answer any questions. This has to be one of the best deals on a gig worthy amp on the web, so grab it while you can! Thanks for looking!
