A trusted companion for players who demand studio-quality tone and stage-ready performance, the Gibson Songwriter Recording Artist blends vintage-inspired craftsmanship with modern versatility. First introduced in the late 1990s, the Songwriter series carved out its own identity with a square-shoulder dreadnought design and a voice rooted in Gibson’s legendary 1930s acoustic heritage. This model, available at Haggerty’s Music, builds on that legacy with premium tonewoods, refined construction, and cutting-edge electronics tailored for today’s performing guitarist.
At its core, this guitar delivers a powerful and articulate voice thanks to its thermally aged Sitka spruce top and rosewood back and sides. The result is a rich, piano-like low end, sparkling highs, and a complex midrange that records beautifully and projects effortlessly in live settings. The 25.5” scale length adds snap and clarity, while the Advanced X-bracing enhances resonance and dynamic response. Whether you’re fingerpicking delicate passages or driving hard with a flatpick, the Songwriter responds with depth, balance, and unmistakable Gibson character.
Designed with the modern musician in mind, the L.R. Baggs HiFi system ensures your plugged-in tone is just as inspiring as its acoustic voice. With discreet soundhole-mounted controls and exceptional feedback resistance, this system makes it a go-to choice for both stage and studio. Finished in a stunning Rosewood Burst gloss and paired with a Gibson hardshell case, this Songwriter Recording Artist is a refined, professional-grade instrument ready for any musical setting.
