About this listing
Gibson Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute — 2011 — Satin EbonyThe Studio line has been Gibson's player-focused Les Paul since 1983 — no binding, no figured top, no extras — just the core construction and pickups that make a Les Paul worth playing. The '60s Tribute takes that further, adding a chambered mahogany body, a satin nitrocellulose finish, and most importantly, a pair of P-90 soapbars in place of the usual humbuckers. P-90-equipped Les Pauls defined the sound of early rock and roll before the humbucker arrived in 1957, and the combination remains one of the most versatile and characterful in electric guitar. Raw and punchy through the bridge, warm and vocal at the neck, and capable of a surprising range of tones across the four-knob control layout. The chambered body keeps weight down without sacrificing resonance, and the '60s Slim Taper neck profile is fast and comfortable. The satin ebony finish has developed a natural sheen in the areas of most contact — entirely expected on a played guitar with thin nitro. The guitar shows honest play wear — light scratches visible on the body — but is in good playing condition throughout. No issues affecting playability or function.Sold without case.SpecificationsSerial: 118111573Body: Chambered mahogany, carved maple top, satin ebony finishNeck: Mahogany, set neck, '60s Slim Taper profileFingerboard: Rosewood, 12" radius, 22 frets, figured acrylic trapezoid inlaysNut: Corian, 1.695"Scale length: 24.75"Pickups: 2x Gibson P-90 soapbar, cream coversControls: 2x volume, 2x tone, Orange Drop capacitorsSwitching: 3-way Switchcraft toggleBridge: Nashville Tune-O-MaticTailpiece: StopbarTuners: Vintage-style green key KlusonsPickguard: Aged creamMade in USA
