Overview
Gibson's Firebrand series "The SG" Deluxe was a short-lived model that's developed quite the cult following, with an ebony fretboard and a zebra humbucker pickup with exceptionally high output called the "Velvet Brick."
One year prior to the release of this mahogany-bodied instrument, the 1979 Gibson catalog featured the Firebrand "The SG" (or "The SG" Std.) with walnut body and neck, with all other appointments the same.
